28 Nov Essential Tech Tips for Nights Out – November 2025
The festive party season is almost upon us, and we’re sure many of you have already been planning when and where to celebrate. 🕺💃
Before you head out, it’s worth giving a moment’s thought to your tech. Here are some practical tips for the party season:
💻 Leave the laptop at home or safely in the office.
📱 Keep your mobile on you at all times, ideally in an inside or sealed pocket.
And if the worst happens and something does go walkies or you overindulge and leave it on the train, let us know as soon as you possibly can. The longer you wait, the greater the chance of something going wrong.
If you’ve been following our advice, we can block the device, remove access, or even remotely wipe it. (We might even be able to tell you where it is, just in case you put it in the dog’s bed when you got home!)
Keep calm and party on! 🎄✨
🌍 What is a “GeoLock”? 🔒
A GeoLock is a simple but powerful way to restrict system access based on geographic location.
For example, Transpeed is a UK-based company, and all our staff work in the UK. So if anything tries to access our systems from another country, it’s automatically blocked. It’s one of the easiest ways to stop unauthorised logins before they even start.
GeoLocks also help with compliance. We once heard of a bank employee who couldn’t log on, when IT checked, they discovered he was in Syria, and his contract explicitly forbade taking data or devices outside Europe. He was dismissed immediately.
We can help you implement GeoLocks to keep your systems safe, secure, and compliant.
IT Industry News:
When the cloud sneezed.
You may have seen the news about the recent Cloudflare disruption, which caused major issues across the internet, from websites failing to load to services timing out worldwide. Cloudflare sits at the heart of global web traffic, so when it sneezes, large parts of the internet catch a cold.
Outages like this are becoming more common, and they highlight an uncomfortable truth:
No provider is too big to fail, not even the ones powering half the internet.
If you’d like to understand what this means for your own resilience and how businesses can stay protected…
Transpeed News: Our new logo is out!

Transpeed has come a long way from its spare-bedroom beginnings in 2000, so it feels right that our brand evolves too with a modern logo that reflects who we are today – fast, smart and secure IT that keeps businesses running without friction, with a look that matches the way we operate: forward-thinking, connected and ready for what comes next. We’ll be rolling out the new logo and brand colours across our digital platforms over the next couple of months, starting with our email signatures.
Exciting next steps include unveiling our 25-year IT badge and a refreshed office space, with the full reveal coming in the new year.
